Still Water Fly Fishing.

We can offer still-water fly fishing instruction and coaching at the exclusive and private Damerham Fisheries which are situated in the beautiful Allen valley, on the western edge of the New Forest. It is, without doubt, one of the finest still water fisheries in the country. Damerham is renowned for the clarity of its water which enables anglers to see clearly the trout that abound in the picturesque lakes.

There is easy access around the carefully groomed banks which makes this venue suitable for people of all ages and capabilities. Your visit, for either tuition or coaching, whether on a one to one basis or in a group, will be tailored to meet your own requirements and we will endeavour to ensure that your experience with us is both enjoyable and rewarding.

For the complete novice we provide an introductory session which will include tutorials in the following:
Safety Instruction

How the rod works

Basic knots and fly recognition
Casting to playing and landing a fish

Coaching sessions for the more experienced angler can be tailored to suit the requirements of each individual and some typical examples might include the following:
Overhead and Roll casts with differing wind conditions
Changing direction
False casting

Single and double haul

We can cater for head-to-head or group tuition and your day, part day or planned, linked coaching sessions will be designed with you in mind.

All our coaches are members of the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA) and will hold a minimum of a level two certificate in coaching game angling. They are covered by a comprehensive insurance policy and are all licensed under the fishcoach.org scheme.
